1. Send in a proposal in a Word document. It should include:
Full name/contact details
Short CV, including writing/publishing background if pertinent
A one-paragraph description of the proposal
A full contents list, including a short description of the each chapter
A description of the intended target audience
A discussion as to what is unique or necessary about this book in comparison to similar titles that are currently available on the market and our publishing backlist (Islamic Foundation and Kube). What does this proposal add that is distinctive or different?
Include (in the case of manuscripts rather than submissions) one sample chapter.
Word length (actual or proposed)
We will NOT consider manuscripts unless a submission is sent in first of all.
2. After considering a submission, the editorial team at Islamic Foundation will indicate
if they wish to see a manuscript for further consideration for publication or not or
if they are interested in commissioning the submission as a book project
Further consideration of manuscripts can be delayed if the manuscript is sent for review by an external reader; this is particularly the case with specialist subjects, but otherwise we aim to give a response within one month.
3. Any manuscript should be sent in electronic form as a MS Word document as one whole document, and one bound hardcopy. Manuscripts should:
Be set in the Times font, font size 10
Include a contents page
Be double spaced
Set as justified text
Conform to our house style (document currently in preparation)
Include a one-paragraph description of the book for marketing purposes and a one-paragraph description of the author.
